7 days and counting

It’s almost here – Christmas Eve is one week away, and the day itself is 8 days. Are you ready? Most of us here at the Admiral are, and the painting and cleaning are going well.

Before we talk about what’s going on in Victoria this week, we promised last week to show you what the new sweatshirt/hoodie looked like:

admiral sweat shirtSuitable for either men or women, teens and adults, the hoodie zips down the front, had front pockets, and a hood, with the Admiral crest in vivid green on the left chest. Available in a variety of sizes, and one colour – deep blue. Look for them on the Admiral staff, and available in the front lobby and lounge. I think they’re great, and they’re warm and fuzzy, too! A perfect last minute gift for the special someone in your life! For the young women: no, the guy doesn’t come with the hoodie.

December 19, the Victoria Symphony, conducted by Guiseppe Pietraroia, presents pianist Michael Kaeshammer in The Days of Christmas.
Charismatic jazz star Michael Kaeshammer makes his orchestral debut with the Victoria Symphony. This concert will be a knock-out performance of Christmas favourites and Michael’s own hits and is destined to be the premiere performance of a very popular Christmas tour. Do not miss this unprecedented performance with on of Canada’s rising stars. (Christmas is here).

st anneBe sure to get a look at St. Anne’s academy December 20. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon seasonal concert series in the beautiful chapel at St. Ann’s Academy. Te Chapel is decorated with the traditional Nativity painting created in 1900 by St. Ann’s Academy art teacher, Sister Mary Osithe. The Nativity scene also features a wax baby Jesus dating from the late 19th century and cascading pointsettias to further set the scene. St. Ann’s Academy will also be decked out for the holidays indoors and out! (Christmas is here) The Giving Tree will be on display in the Sisters’ Parlour. Drop by with non-perishable food items, unwrapped toys or new and gently used clothing to place under the tree for distribution to local charities. Admission is $15.00, $12.00 for seniors or students. Tickets are available at the St. Ann’s office (During Winter hours Thursday to Sunday 1:00 – 4:00pm) or over the telephone by Visa or Mastercard at 250-953-8829.
