The Admiral Inn opened in 1947 as a two story apartment complex and was converted into a 10 room motel in the early 1950s. In 1988 the Margisons purchased the hotel, and it did so well they renovated it (winning an award in the process) in 1997. In 2007, they sold the hotel to a small group of investors.
We are not a chain and are proud of the fact that we are an independent business, untethered to a faceless, distant corporation and are able to be flexible. We aren’t ruled by heartless bureaucratic rules and policies, and can change to accommodate our guests and their needs.
Our aim is to provide you with attractive and comfortable accommodation at an affordable price. We are inexpensive, not cheap. We include many amenities and special touches at no cost to our guests. Our parking and wireless internet access are free of charge, as is our complimentary continental breakfast. Our biggest draw, however, are our bicycles, available at no charge to our guests for their pleasure and fitness.
Rooms and suites are well equipped, immaculately clean and have a ‘homey’ feel. Front desk staff are friendly, courteous and professional. They are knowledgeable about the city’s attractions. They’re delighted to act as concierge and tailor a sight-seeing itinerary to your preferences.
The Admiral’s goal is to give the hotel the ambience of a small B&B, yet offer the conveniences, privacy and feeling of a select hotel or inn. We think we’ve succeeded admirably and are proud to maintain and extend the tradition of five-star service for our guests.
