Enjoying Jazzfest? We hope so. We are, and not just because the city is full of people. But maybe jazz isn’t your thing, so here are some more activities going on in and around Victoria for the next couple of weeks:
Feel like travelling in time? Want to go back to when men were men and dragons were plentiful? When the court jester wore motely and bells, and the gowns were of velvet and linen, and possibly, if you were very very rich and aristocratic enough, silk? Make sure you’re on Fort Rodd Hill between June 27 and July 3 as the Pacific Association for recreating the Middle Ages demonstrates medieval crafts, activities and dress.
Join Naden Band, Stephanie Greaves and Ken Lavigne at the Royal Theatre on June 23 as they perform songs of the sea and that are the favourites of sailors.
And while you’re in Victoria, be sure to plan a trip to Chemanius to take in Guys and Dolls at the Chemanius theatre. Ten Tonys, seven Laurence Olivier and six Drama Desk Awards make this show an undeniable hit! Enjoy Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat, Luck Be A Lady and Take Back Your Mink along with the unforgettable Sky Masterson, Sarah Brown and Miss Adelaide – it’s a show that has been described as the perfect musical comedy. Gangsters, card sharks, night club headliners and the Salvation Army fall in, and out, and back in love again, in this high octane New York fable.
But be sure to come back to Victoria, and stay with us, the Admiral Inn, your home away from home, where you awake refreshed and can enjoy our substantial continental breakfast on the patio, or in our lounge. We have a room, or a suite just for you, so call today and reserve with us.
