What We Look Like
Welcome to the Admiral – this is what you see when you first pull up. The harbour is behind us, and we’re looking roughly southwest.
We step into the lobby. Bookcases in case it rains and you want something to read, our front desk staff waiting to help you check-in, or arrange a tour or make dinner reservations for you.
Here are Helen and Megan, welcoming us to the hotel.
Debra, our manager, and Megan helping a guest check in and answering their questions about things to do in the city.
We’re on our way to our room. This is the rear of the hotel, just as nice as (sometimes nicer than) the front. All our rooms run from front to back in the hotel, so you always have a view – and not just of the parking lot!
This is a ‘typical’ room. Except that each room is different. Some, like this one, have two beds and a kitchenette (microwave, kettle, coffeemaker, bar fridge and tea pot with dishes and cutlery.) Others have multiple beds, with couch and chair, some have full kitchens. Our suites are fully contained one bedroom units, with a full kitchen – full stove & oven, full sized fridge, pots & pans, etc.
Here’s a view of a standard room – we’re standing at the main door looking down the room to the balcony doors at the front of the building. What you can’t see here is the incredible cleanliness of the room. Our housekeepers pride themselves on how clean they keep the rooms.
Let’s walk down to the view end of the hotel, and we’ll sneak onto the front balcony. If you look to your left, you can see the entrance to Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Lovely view and a great place to sit with a glass of wine or beer on a warm summer’s day, just before you go for dinner.
Here are our guides again, with a guest, showing us the view looking south east, along the front of the hotel.
Turn around, and this is what we see – the view of the Inner Harbour with downtown Victoria in the background.
